So o think I am understanding this now, just a few questions. So I'm already rooted and running newts 5.0.9, patched to 5.1.1. Do I need to start from scratch with a stock ruu before beginning s-off?

Dont need to be on stock RUU but, need to be close to stock rom . Use Ineff or Clean rom to do S OFF .... One XXX to far from base

You can use stock ruu if you root it. Have to install busybox from. Market and SU. Update su binaries and use any root app to be sure you have root.

Busybox gives SU root permission and allows it to update binaries. Required to install SU. SU gives everything else root permission. Install busybox from Market then flash this SU zip in recovery and you should have root on stock rom. Originally Posted by civydcex

So can anyone give me a link to a good ruu? I heard that .5 was global and changes hboot, I don't know how o feel about that. Looking for .12 I believe.
