Tampered is the recovery. If he has flashed a different recovery then the tampered will show up. If you are trying to run the ruu on this phone, make sure you do it twice. You will need to unlock and flash amon ra again after running the ruu. Also, make sure you run a Rom such as newts one xxx or changes ineff deus so you can achieve root after unlocking and flashing the recovery. Just follow the tut and you won't have any problems. Jlyles laid it out step by step and in order with all appropriate links. You follow his tut and you won't have any problems at all. You should try and s off and flash the junouptu bear hboot. if you follow his tut step by step, you will be soff, rooted, domed unlocked and all that other happy stuff. Shouldn't take but 30-45 minutes.

Also I would rather flas a stock Rom first cuz I have to Ho into Verizon and activate it..

When you flash the ruu both times. Just leave it be and then go into Verizon and have them activate it. The ruu will have stock ROM, stock recovery, stock hboot, everything. You will be locked, s on, stock everything like it came right out of the box. Follow the tut after you leave vzw.

So you bought this thing without running the ruu first?

u are going to need to re-lock phone / then run RUU . Then it should boot.
If not , I have a REZ for sale , all stock never rooted .

Must relock which means you will need to be close to PC to use fastboot.. Only need to run RUU once regardless of what DJ says. It already has ICS bootloader and only required to run twice if upgrading from GB. If not bricked will boot to stock ICS. Tampered tag will be gone but relocked will remain until s-off is achieved. May have lucked out. If it will boot into recovery you can flash another rom from sd card. Looks like he may have wiped the boot partition. Good luck.

I was able to boot into recovery with no problems imma see if flashing a Rom will fix..

Need to flash rom and corresponding boot.img. I think he wiped boot.img. That is why it won't boot.
