OK guys just shoot me in the right direction. Basically have the zImage port of funky kernel done.
I would say about 25% of this is new to me.

Hello - and please accept my apologies in advance for the noob question. I am S-Off, TWRP, Hboot 1.12, running stock 1.22.651.3 and would like to do OTA 1.22.651.3-2.13.651.1. I am completely confused when it comes to the boot.img part of the process. The OP says I need to flash boot.img in the bootloader or the Kernel w/boot.img in recovery after flashing the OTA file. Can someone please help me understand what the difference is between the boot.img and the Kernel with boot.img and why I would want one over the other? Also, I notice that there are four flavors of the Kernal - can someone explain what the difference is between them? Again, please accept my apologies and thanks for all your help!!!!
If you are SOFF you can just flash the rom and not worry about the boot img. The separate boot img flash are for those that are son. Son can't flash boot.img normally that's why it's there separately. The zimage is the actual a kernel. Boot img is the zimage plus ramdisk.

Sorry to be so dense, but I am wanting to just do the OTA - not the entire ROM (because I don't want to lose all the settings and data on the phone). It was my understanding that if I just wanted to do the OTA, I needed to flash the boot.img. Can you please tell me if my understanding is correct?
Thanks again for your patience! I know my questions are extremely noobish!
