I've been doing this for a while and have been able to go back after a few months and then install the app. Also have you tried Disk Usage, and SD Maid. Both great apps suggested to me by jadeboy. Really help in letting you know what's going on with your phone memory / storage.

I too, started doing this process for the Amazon FAOD, which does help mostly. However, the Amazon catalog still gets bloated in the process, by virtue of showing all of the "new apps" you have waiting to be installed. Not as bad as an actual installation, but it does bloat it continually.

have you tried cache cleaner ng? You can set it to clean at different intervals as often as every twelve hours. And had a strong allowing it to exclude some apps from cleaning Ann's had a method that cleans the folders in your sd card. Not knocking sd maid use that myself also. It is a very thorough app also

Ok so just an Update. I recently had the same issue again on my wife's OG EVO 4G. She wanted to update Google Maps, and couldn't. She received the Low Disk Space Error. I went into Apps and cleared all the Caches. That fixed the issue for a bit. Then out of the Blue she received the Insufficient Memory Message. So I got a bit freaked at this point wondering what the Hell was going on. So I go through check everything again. All looks great except for one thing Dialer Storage. It's was at 193MB . WTF ? It's greyed out so I couldn't clear Cache. So I read up on Dialer Storage, turns out it has to do with MMS / SMS . She's never deleted one. I tell her I'm going to delete them and she freaks out. Not good. So while trying to figure out what to do, I remember that with Titanium Backup you can move App Data to the SD Card. Which then makes it the default path for the Data. I went into TB long Press on Dialer Storage, wait for the Pop Up. Choose Move app data to SD Card. Yatzee . 200MB of Internal Storage back. That was about a week ago. Wanted to wait a while before posting. Just in case I ran into any issues. Glad to say not one issue. Did the same on my EVO Shift, not one issue. Also as expected Dialer Storage has grown since I moved it. But it has had Zero effect on Internal Storage. So figured I'd share my results. Hope this helps .
One last thing both devices are running A2SD. But I do not think that will make a difference if your not using A2SD.

    Re: Low Disk Space error

A little more info. Just did this same thing to an OG EVO running MikG v3.11 without A2SD. Worked perfectly .

    EDIT :
I was incorrect it will not work on the Non A2SD EVO.
The person I was helping did not follow the directions I gave him. So I received false Information. My Apologies to anyone this caused an issue to . So in order for this to solution to work you Must Be Running A2SD.

Very interesting and very nice find. My mother in laws Shift has this happen about every other week or so, it seems. I clear caches, uninstall some apps, and all work great for awhile. I will bet my house she's never deleted 1 text message she has received since the day I rooted it. I'll have to check that out, I know my wife does this and I get on her all the time about deleted them. She'll have like 200 convo's going , some dating back like 3 months and won't delete them.

    Thanks and thanked!

    Re: Low Disk Space error

Redid the wife's OG last night. Cleared about 60MB of space by moving dalvik to sdext. Will still try pr's thing, but big change here.

Hahahaha Guess great minds think alike. I moved Davik to SD on both the EVO, and the Shift this morning. Huge difference on both. Gained over 95MB on the Shift. 75+ on the EVO, no issues with apps on either device. Will keep you posted if anything acts weird. EVO is running a Class6 SD Card. The Shift is running a Class10. Both now have over 230+ of Internal Memory left.
