    Battery Draining Badly

Hey guys. I just flashed the 3.1 and wow am I amazed with the speed. Thanks Mik Sir. I just had one comment of question. I left the kernel as the original but the battery is dying like it ain't funny. Should I flash the anthtrax kernel or leave this? Thanks

If you just flashed the ROM, I would wait a few days. The battery on mine sucked for about 2 days but is pretty good now with the stock kernel.

I had a similar issue with baaad battery drain as well and the phone running much hotter than usual. I'm talking, I left it charging overnight and woke to it super hot and @50% on a wall charger. I ran 3.1 for a couple days. No change. Wiped everything and reflashed from scratch and saw no change. I ran anthrax on the 2nd flash. Does anyone have an idea? I'm running CM7 currently but I really love mikg. Any help would be appreciated.

What's your recovery/wiping/flashing process? Are you overclocked? Do you restore data with TB?

Assuming you have the correct answers to Nick, this might help:

I was having major heat issues too and believe my ext3 and/or android.secure was responsible.

If you manually mess with a2sd, might want to run the remove command --> make sure user apps are backed up --> reboot to recovery, wipe cache/dalvik/Ext and Android.secure --> reboot and, if all is well, reinstall a2sd if you wish. Easier method: never assume not using something means it doesn't need to be wiped before flash, at least, that's what I learned.

For the record, the "remove" command will only help for the apps on the ext3 partition - not the ones in .android-secure. So if you plan on wiping .android-secure also, make sure you have those apps backed up as well.

Of course. ---> "backup user apps" was meant to be a directory agnostic suggestion.

I use amon ra/ wipe factory data, cache& dalvik, boot and I always superwipe once or twice before I manual wipe/ hadn't overclocked/ I didn't restore system data, but I did restore app data. I saw the other responses too. I'm not clear on the ext3 problem you all mentioned (also I've never wiped android secure to my knowledge)

OK...Well first thing to do is get rid of the superwipe, not reliable, just use Amon Ra and follow this guide to flash. When you say you restored app data, what rom did you come from? It's not ideal to restore app data and has been known to cause issues, especially coming from a completely different rom.

What I would do is reflash by following that guide and restore your apps WITHOUT data and see how it runs. You could always go back later and pick and choose a couple apps here and there and restore data to them.

    Let us know.
